Breathe Clock

Designed as a response to time pressure and the anxiety that results from looming deadlines, Breathe is a clock built with JavaScript that provides an alternative way of representing time. Rather than displaying numerical values for the current hour and minute, this clock uses typography that fragments over the course of an hour; depending on what time the viewer checks it, the text will appear on a range from more legible to more fragmented and abstract.

Instead of showing how much time is left until the next appointment or deadline, this clock was created to encourage the viewer to slow down and to take a minute to reflect on what they are looking at, or, when the text is more legible, to serve as a small reminder to breathe.
