Bonds

Bonds is a visual exploration of the contrast between connection and separation. Through motion and kinetic typography, each in this series of five digital posters highlights this contrast from the macro to the micro; every visual element is composed of the smallest unit of a square, circle or triangle, which break apart and come together to form letters, which then form words, which then form larger shapes.

The fragments are also individually animated to emphasize their own form, and transitions between scenes alternate between the coming together and breaking apart of bonds inherent in human connections. As a further exploration of contrast, the digital motion piece was projected on a physical wall at a larger scale, which provides an alternative format for viewing the posters, off-screen and in the world.
